Wanna be a working actor?  Let me share the secrets that will help you get there.

I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. A lifelong movie buff, I moved to Los Angeles in 1984 planning to finish college & become a film director.  I didn't know anyone in town - let alone how to get started on a career in the film industry.  A few years of struggle - and a lot of trial and error -  (and no funds for college) brought me to my first theatrical agent in 1988, the same year I booked my first job (The Town Bully).  Since then, I have worked steadily as an actress as well as dabbling in writing (Beverly Hills, 90210) and photography (www.RoadTripAmericana.com).

If you attend one of my workshops, I can share with you how I made the transition and share tips with you on how you might make the same leap.  I come to these seminars with a perspective derived from several sources.  I have twenty years of acting professionally under my belt.  I have written for television.  I have attended dozens of actor seminars and workshops both for personal growth and to research the industry standards for such things.  As a programmer for Saugatuck, Michigan's Waterfront Film Festival - I watch hundreds of independent films, shorts and documentaries every year and then have the added benefit of meeting (and picking the brains of) the best of these artists at the festival itself.  Through this festival I have developed many Michigan area relationships and I have a very intimate understanding of the local film industry just now blossoming there including working relationships with Tictock Studios & Michigan Casting Services  - the team that just completed a major motion picture  - WHAT'S WRONG WITH VIRGINIA -- shot IN MICHIGAN -- with Academy Award winner Jennifer Connolly & multiple Oscar nominee, Ed Harris - and MANY local Michigan actors.
Seeing how an industry that I am so familiar with develops in a new area has provided me with many interesting insights.  Also - horrified by the corny headshots so many of my Los Angeles peers had - I taught myself headshot photography and worked at that professionally for some time.  In addition, I am a partner in the artist connectivity site www.Nextcat.com - a free networking site devoted to creative people of all ilks.  I have fielded questions of every kind at the various panels I sit on and seminars I moderate at both the Waterfront Film Festival - as well as others I have attended as a guest.  I have attended festivals from Cannes to Stonybrook & Tribeca to Sundance & Slamdance and many in between. I have experienced the glamour of the Emmys & the Golden Globes.  I have also experienced the heartbreak of being one of two choices for an exciting new series - and not gotten the job.  I have a uniquely broad experience to bring to you and more information to impart than can likely be managed in a single seminar.  All I can do is my best - and I intend to!  So sign up now and take charge of your future!

This seminar is not intended for children. The material being performed by the actors might be from R-rated (for language) films and I might even let a little salty language fly - so please do not enroll your child. A good deal of the information shared in this workshop will be well over the heads of children, too, so this would be a waste of money for them. Sixteen and over, please.
